User Options

Users may set various options and preferences for the operation of GenMAPP. These settings apply to all MAPPs opened in the current instance of the GenMAPP program and are saved for the next time you open the GenMAPP program.

To open the Options menu, choose Tools > Options.

Legend Options

The Legend displays the characteristics of your Expression Dataset and its coloring criteria.

To hide the Legend, uncheck the box next to Show Legend. To hide individual items in the Legend, uncheck the appropriate box. Any selections you make here are preserved whether or not you choose to display the Legend itself. You can change the size of the font for the Legend by using the font size pull-down menu. Headings in the Legend are 1.25 times your chosen font size. Changing the font size for the Legend is helpful when preparing MAPPs for presentations or for export.

You can make changes to the display properties at any time by returning to the Options menu.

Under this tab you may also choose to display the Information Area or not. To hide the display of the Information Area uncheck the box next to Show Information Area. The MAPP Information will be preserved and will again display if you recheck the box.

Coloring Options

Coloring Options allow you to choose which Gene Identification Scheme to use in coloring your MAPP, All Related Gene IDs or Exact Match to gene ID.

You also have the option of having GenMAPP open already displaying an Expression Dataset. To activate this option, check the box next to Always open GenMAPP with the most-recently-used Expression Dataset loaded.

Clicking OK saves your choices in the Options window. Clicking on Cancel or on the close box in the title bar returns you to the Drafting Board without saving your changes.

Other

You can choose to Automatically check from program updates. The GenMAPP Updater will check for updates each time the program is launched.
